Mark Marissen, Principal
Drawing on his extensive experience in strategic communications
and national public affairs, Mark Marissen established
Burrard Communications Inc. in February, 1998.
Since then, Mr. Marissen has provided strategic advice
about communications planning, stakeholder consultation,
media relations and issue advocacy to dozens of clients.
They include private and publicly-traded companies,
industry associations, municipal agencies and major infrastructure
projects.
Mr. Marissen has also provided strategic counsel at
senior levels for federal election campaigns and leadership
campaigns at the provincial and national level. He is
currently the National Campaign Co-Chair for the Liberal
Party of Canada.
Prior to creating his practice, Mr. Marissen was the
senior advisor to federal cabinet ministers in three
different federal departments: Fisheries and Oceans,
Transport and National Revenue -- working both in Ottawa
and at the Ministers’ Regional Office in Vancouver.
He was responsible for managing key issues that affect
British Columbians involving every department in the
federal government.
Mr. Marissen has a B.A. in Political Science. He studied
at both Carleton University and Simon Fraser University. |
